Abertawe is a shitty city. It’s a shitty city because we live in a shitty world, dominated by shitty people with shitty politics. Abertawe, like everywhere else, is drowning in their shitty shit.

Abertawe is a beautiful city. It is a beautiful city because we live in a beautiful world graced with waterfalls and mountains, sparrows and seals, and beautiful people doing beautiful things.

Making art, playing music, writing poetry, growing vegetables, fighting fascism, creating websites….

The internet was supposed to be a place of connection. But of course, the internet, like our cities, reflects the culture and the politics of the people who run it. Individualist, corporate, siloed.

So we set up a website to bring all the beauty that is still there together into one place, a curated window into the beautiful things that Abertawe has to offer. The culture, the politics, the places we love that make this city beautiful. A beautiful place to live.

How this works

We curate the sources, not every event. Trusted venues and organisers across Swansea, Mumbles, Gower and beyond send their listings straight through — by hand, by spreadsheet, or by feed — rather than waiting on anyone to vet them one at a time.
